on Tuesday, February 28th 2023: I still ride a bicycle for recreation and transportation, although in Vancouver, British Columbia. A friend asked me if we got as many bicycle flat tires when we were kids, in the 1950's. Maybe my memory is selective, but I don't remember any. I don't even remember going to a bicycle shop for repairs. My theory was that the tires were heavier and thicker; and, we were much lighter. Also, maybe there was less broken glass in the streets then. I don't really know. Did you get flats?
